I was just visiting the PIT in early June. I had dinner at Wailulu, which was excellent.

The tower is beautiful! The views are amazing. It makes the Poly look old and dated.

I was at Aulani in September and I think the island towers decor is nicer.

Like anything it’s personal taste.

I think everything Disney does is pretty darn great!!!

I cannot wait to stay there next March!!!

I think the issue is, they designed it to look good from the ground in front. For example, take a look at VGF - you can walk 360 around any building and it’s beautiful. Look how they tied the DVC building right into the resort. There’s no ugly column sticking out of the roof the roof is designed as a part of the structures look and theme. Even Riviera and Bay lake Tower have attention paid to the overall look at the building. I’m a huge fan of the idea of making Bay Lake Tower curved next to the angular contemporary, so the buildings contrast, but yet the materials make them look like they belong together. That that took imagination.

It really makes you wonder, does Disney have plans to majorly renovate Polynesian Village in the future to make it look more like PIT? Or will it continue to stick out like a sore brown thumb for decades

I think the original buildings on the hotel side are probably due for a rip out and replace. With the difficulty their having filling rooms they could easily afford to take one at a time out of service and do a major upgrade like they did at VGF.
