  • I ended up removing it from my cart and clicking through at exactly 11am and was able to buy it for $80!
  • I tried with multiple BB accounts, and placed 3 orders but 2 got cancelled. Even had a totally different address, phone number, email and credit card on one of them, but still was cancelled.
  • The positive of adding it to my cart early and then removing it was, I did not need to sign in again or do the 2FA. Post #4013

Read page 1 and then jump to the end to ask q's & introduce yourself- we're a nice bunch over there too so don't be shy!

Quarterly cashback categories and store specific offers often trigger offers even when you buy gift cards. Follow along on the thread for specific offers and to see if people recommend it or not. Feel free to post your own experiences and savings with offers too!

*PSA: DO NOT CALL THE BANK WHEN AN OFFER DOESN'T WORK ON GIFT CARD PURCHASES Gc purchases are obviously not the nature of these offers and all you do is call attention to yourself by calling the bank and complaining if it doesn't work as well as call the bank's attention to the fact they might need to do some re-programming to make sure it never works. Targeted Offers That Share A Back End
A number of banks use the same offer portal so you will commonly find the same offer on other cards. If you see an offer you like, check other issues for it too! Issuers include:

American Express

Amex Targeted Offers Found under the offers tab in your online login. Offers can disappear from the tab- as soon as the same day they come out if they're really good- so add it if you want as soon as you see it. Once you add the offer it will stay active in your account until expiration. Offers are one per SSN so sometime it's a good idea to pick the card you add it to carefully as once you add it the offer will disappear from all other cards. Just because an offer is available on one of your cards doesn't mean it will be available on others.

Generic Amex Targeted Offers These are things like "cable" or "insurance" which are offers encompassing an entire category of purchases instead of store specific. They are found alongside the store specific targeted offers under the offers tab.

Bank of America Cash Reward Card
Our Original Post

The Cash Rewards card from Bank of America offers 3% back on one selected category, up to $2,500 per quarter. If you don’t select anything it defaults to gas. Once you selected a category for one quarter, that remains your category in the future unless you change it. Each calendar month you can change it if you’d like, but you’re always limited to $2,500 for the entire quarter.

This category is especially lucrative for those who have Preferred Rewards status with Bank of America which can get you 5.25% back on one of these categories at the higher relationship level.

Lots of useful categories here. Important note: the Cash Rewards card also offers 2% back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs up to $2,500 per quarter, and that $2,500 limit combines with the Category Selection limit. After spending $2,500, you’ll earn 1% back on everything.

Disney Gift Cards 101
Combine & Protect​

Sweet! Now that you have a stack of Disney gift cards (DGC), now what? It's important to verify the amount on your cards immediately after purchase, if there are any issues, now is the time to resolve them.

Combining Your Disney Gift Cards
Even though we recommend combining your DGC, there is one very important caveat.
  • Never combine DGC purchased from a third party site (Raise, giftcards .com etc.) with store bought cards (Target, Sam's Club etc). You need to keep those separated and labeled
    • Combine third party site with third party site.
    • Combine store bought with store bought.
To get started you need to create an account at disneygiftcard.com. This will allow you to verify your funds, combine them, monitor your cards and transfer during an emergency.

You are allowed to transfer funds from one card to another, up to $1,000. It's a very easy process. Just know, you can only transfer the full amount on the card to another card, partial transfers are not allowed.

Now What?
These next steps are 100% necessary, it's work but it's also piece of mind knowing if something happens to your funds, you can prove to Disney you are the purchaser:

Label your Main Cards
  • Resort #1, Resort #2, Resort #3, Tickets, Food & Beverage, Souvenirs
Keep a Spreadsheet & Record EVERYTHING!
  • Date of Purchase, Purchased From, Method Paid, GC Amount, Last Four digits, Date of Transfer, Main Card Name, Balance, Date Used and what it was used for.
Save your original receipts and empty gift cards.
  • On the back of your receipt, write down the entire gc # and Security code.
  • Staple the receipt to the card and place in a ziploc bag.
  • Same with eGifts. Print, record & bag it.
  • After your trip, you can shred everything provided your Main Cards are empty. If you still have funds on your Main card, you'll need to save the information associated to it.
BUT WHY?!?
If the gift card gets reversed, reported stolen or used and not by you, the only way you're going to get your money back is by proving to Disney you are the purchaser.

If your account is suspected of fraud, Disney has the right to shut you down. In order to unlock or release your funds, you will be required to provide proof of purchase.

All of these recommendations are based on experiences from our members. They are recorded on the pages of this thread and serve as Data Points.

Tip
  • Take at least one or two empty cards with you when traveling (or save the e-gift card #). If you lose/misplace your primary card you can go online and transfer the remaining balance onto the empty one.

    • Verify with your cc company prior to purchase of chargeback date, some are 60 days or 120 days from date of purchase. Dispute it under merchandise not received. If you wait past the time frame to dispute the charge, you're on your own.

Regarding the AmEx CVS offer in post #1, perhaps it is a different offer, but mine says it is only $5 off (2X) when spending $5 on CVS Extra Care Plus membership, not on general spending at CVS.
