And is "resort view" the new "standard"? I'm particularly thinking of Polynesian and Grand Floridian. I looked at those two resorts, remembering staying in a VGF Lake view studio and loving it, but sadly it is no more. There is, however, a Preferred view, and something called "Resort view". What are they?

Likely is the case but my best suggestion is hitting up TouringPlans and looking at the resort map. It has all the rooms mapped out and what bucket of view they are part of.

Yes, Disney applied that terminology to all the WDW resorts last year, not just BLT or DVC resorts.

Standard View became Resort View.

Lake View at BLT and at Poly became Preferred View; certain views at other resorts also became Preferred View.

Theme Park View stayed the same.

At some cash resorts, various separate, specific views were combined into Standard or Preferred booking categories, so the previous separately bookable views became request-only. It caused some consternation on the Disney Resorts forum too.
